Fall Capsule Wardrobe: The Only 3 Boots You Need this Season

Fall weather is finally in full effect, which means it’s time to put away the flip-flops and bring out the boots. This is the best time of year for fashion, in my humble opinion; layers, cozy knits, warm colours –  and there’s something about cuffed jeans paired with a chic pair of ankle booties that makes me go full on heart eyes.

Today I’m sharing the three types of boots you need in your fall capsule wardrobe. Add a pair of trusty mules, loafers and/or sneakers into the mix and your fall shoe wardrobe will be complete.

THE KNEE-HIGH/OTK BOOT

The knee-high or over-the-knee boot goes with almost everything. Whether it be jeans, a skirt, leggings, or the coveted sweater dress – these boots have you covered. Mine are black, but my next pair will definitely be in that beautiful cognac colour that makes bags and boots look especially bougie.

THE RAIN BOOT

How amazing is it that rain boots have become super stylish? Again, mine are black, but you can get them in tons of adorable colours and patterns. They don’t have to be Wellingtons – Jeffrey Campbell has some Chelsea style boots that are incredibly chic. The duck boot is a cute option too. Perfect for the pumpkin patch, apple-picking, or navigating the rain-soaked city streets; rain boots are a must for fall.

THE ANKLE BOOT

The ankle boot is a shoe you can have a lot of fun with. There are so many different styles and patterns, it’s hard to choose just one. If you have to have two, get one with heels and one without. That way you’ll have a pair for running errands and a pair for a fancy wine night with your friends (and by “fancy wine” I mean a 10 dollar bottle of vino verde from the LCBO).

Love all the boots!! But I feel like ankle boots are my fave because they are so versatile and I slide them into spring – and summer – when I can get away with it. Love the colour of your light brown ones!
